Mumtalakat and Edamah celebrate Bahraini Women’s day

    Manama, Kingdom of Bahrain, 1 st December 2015: Bahrain Mumtalakat Holding Company (“Mumtalakat”) and Bahrain Real Estate Investment (“Edamah”) hailed the contribution of their female employees by celebrating Bahraini Women’s day. The celebration took place on Monday, the 30th of November, at Mumtalakat’s headquarters.

    Bahraini Women’s day is celebrated every year on December 1st throughout the Kingdom of Bahrain. It is an initiative by the Supreme Council for Women (SCW) led by Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa, wife of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and President of SCW, to honour and highlight the role Bahraini women play in the Kingdom’s economic development.

    During the celebration, Mumtalakat and Edamah reaffirmed their on-going commitment towards gender parity. Within Mumtalakat itself, women currently represent 43.6% of the total workforce and 22.4% of the management team. At Edamah, women represent 47.3% of the total workforce and 23.5% of the management team.

    Mr. Mahmood Hashim Al Kooheji, Chief Executive Officer of Mumtalakat, said: “Firstly, I would like to extend our sincere gratitude to Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa for her continuous efforts to empower women in Bahrain and for dedicating a day to celebrate their remarkable accomplishments and contribution across various sectors of the economy.
