Bahrain Mumtalakat Holding Company (Mumtalakat), the sovereign wealth fund of the Kingdom of Bahrain, celebrated Bahraini Woman's Day today, by spotlighting the continued valuable contributions of women within its organisation.

His Excellency Shaikh Abdulla bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, CEO of Mumtalakat, stated: “Our ongoing efforts at Mumtalakat focus on supporting and empowering Bahraini women to further enhance their role and participation across various fields.”

“We are committed to contributing to the national comprehensive development goals under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and the pioneering role played by the Supreme Council for Women, led by Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa, President of the Supreme Council for Women,” H.E. Shaikh Abdulla added.

Marwa Al Saad, Managing Director of Human Capital at Mumtalakat and Chairperson of the Equal Opportunities Committee, said: "We are proud to highlight the significant representation of Bahraini women within our team, as they make up 43% of our total employees and an impressive 67% of our executive management. It is worth noting that a number of our departments are led by an all-women work team, including the Legal Affairs and the Procurement Departments. This serves as evidence of the effectiveness and expertise of Bahraini women.”

“I would like to take this opportunity to express my heartfelt congratulations and deep appreciation to all Bahraini women who selflessly contribute to their country in various capacities,” Al Saad added.

During the event, Mumtalakat unveiled its video campaign for Bahraini Woman’s Day, which featured Bahraini women across various roles from Mumtalakat speaking about their experiences and the support they received that enabled them to achieve success. The video was also unveiled on Mumtalakat’s social media platforms following the event.

By promoting diversity and sustainable development, Mumtalakat aims to enhance its impact on the national economy through its commitment to fostering equal opportunities among its employees and advocating for greater female representation on the boards of directors of its portfolio companies.
