Collaboration establishes a framework to explore investment opportunities across private and public markets and support capital-market development in Bahrain

Bahrain Mumtalakat Holding Company ("Mumtalakat"), the sovereign wealth fund of the Kingdom of Bahrain, and Arab Invest, the Pan-Arab sovereign wealth fund owned by 16 Arab states, announced the signing of a Memorandum of Collaboration to establish a strategic investment partnership and explore investment opportunities in Bahrain across private and public markets.

The announcement was made at Gateway Gulf 2026, the region’s premier investment forum, hosted by the Bahrain Economic Development Board (Bahrain EDB) and held at the Four Seasons Hotel from November 1st to 2nd, 2026.

The collaboration will provide a framework for the parties to share and evaluate selected investment opportunities, including opportunities that may be pursued independently or through potential co-investments. Areas of collaboration may include private equity, venture capital, growth capital, private credit and structured financing, significant minority investments and co-investments alongside external fund managers, as well as listed equities, fixed-income and money-market instruments, collective investment vehicles, and pre-IPO, IPO, PIPE and other capital-markets transactions.

In public markets, the collaboration will primarily focus on Bahraini issuers and transactions that support the development of the Kingdom’s capital markets. The parties will also explore opportunities to support capital deployment and contribute to sustainable economic growth in Bahrain, in line with Bahrain's long-term economic vision.

His Excellency Shaikh Abdulla bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, Chief Executive Officer of Mumtalakat, said: "This collaboration with Arab Invest brings together two institutions with a shared commitment to Bahrain's economic development. By combining our knowledge of the local market with Arab Invest's regional reach, we aim to channel long-term capital into high-quality opportunities across private and public markets and to support the continued deepening of Bahrain's capital markets."

Abdullah Bakhraibah, Chief Executive Officer, Arab Invest, said: "For more than five decades, Arab Invest has invested to develop Arab economies on sound economic and commercial principles. Bahrain offers an attractive and well-regulated investment environment, and this partnership with Mumtalakat provides a structured platform to identify and evaluate opportunities, including as a strategic or anchor investor in selected primary market transactions."
