Dr. Samer Aljishi is President of BFG International, a leading multi-national engineering and manufacturing group in the Composites Sector that provides integrated highly engineered products to clients within the rail, automotive, wind energy, architectural, construction, and waste treatment industries.

A senior executive with more than 35 years of global experience across multiple sectors and industries, Samer holds Board and Committee positions at various organisations, including the Gulf Air Group, Bahrain Airport Services, McLaren Group (UK) and the Bahrain Development Bank. Samer is currently a board member in the Bahrain Economic Development Board and in Mumtalakat. 

Samer’s key academic and research background is in Semiconductor Physics with a specialization in novel thin film photovoltaic materials. Additionally, Samer has incubated a number of startups in Miniature Wastewater Treatment and I4 enabled digital industrial efficiency solutions while at the helm of BFG. Samer has over 70 academic publications to date and holds a PhD in Electrical Engineering  from Princeton University.
